We are looking for a passionate individual who feels connected with our mission to join the team as a Youth Program Manager. This role will oversee the growth and development of our High School Youth Internship Program, which supports students with limited resources in gaining exposure to different career paths with community businesses.

On an average day, you will:

  • Manage and build out our High School Youth Internship Program which includes identifying appropriate students, building relationships with community businesses, and supporting the student and their family to achieve a successful outcome 
  • Represent and share StepUp Wilmington’s mission at high schools, colleges, churches, and other local organizations 
  • Facilitate all aspects of our Future Leaders program each Wednesday night from 5pm-8pm
  • Provide individual and family case management to participants 
  • Coordinate and implement regular parent orientation meetings 
  • Recruit, train, and empower volunteers to build and maintain strong youth programs
  • Plan and implement curriculum for participants based on age
  • Utilize the Salesforce platform to input data and maintain records on participants, volunteers, and community partners 
 

To qualify for this job, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 3+ years of nonprofit, social work, or related experience
  • Experience working in the New Hanover school district
  • Willingness and ability to communicate with participants, staff, volunteers, children and families of all ages and backgrounds
  • Experience advocating, empathizing, coaching and counseling adults and children
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong computer skills - Google Drive and Microsoft Applications (database experience preferred)
  • Ability to work Wednesday evenings from 5pm-8pm ET
